People interested in running for city, school district and township offices in the upcoming November election can begin filing an affidavit of candidacy today (Tuesday).

Filing can be done at city and school district offices, or by contacting the township clerk.

The filing period continues through 5 p.m. Sept. 9. A filing fee is required for all offices.

Most area cities will elect two City Council members and mayor. Three offices will be for election in the city of Litchfield. Council seats in Ward 2, Ward 4 and the at-large will be filled. Filing can be made with the assistant city administrator Joyce Spreiter at City Hall, 126 North Marshall Ave. All seats are four years.

Litchfield School Board will have three seats up for election. All are four-year terms. Interested candidates can file in the Litchfield School District Office, located in the Meeker County Family Services building, 114 N. Holcombe Ave., Litchfield.
