Authorities are still looking for a St. Cloud man that led local law enforcement officers on a manhunt Tuesday.
Officers searched a corn field near Grove City by air, horse and on ground for Devin Delbert Donald Blom, 21, formerly of Cosmos. Blom was not located and remains at large as of this morning, according to Litchfield Police Chief Pat Fank.
The manhunt began around 4 p.m. when approximately 20 officers of the CEE-VI Drug Task Force, Litchfield Police Department and Meeker County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 28131 CSAH 25, Grove City, Fank.
According to a news release from the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, at 5:46 p.m. officers attempted to stop a green 1990 Ford Explorer, driven by Blom, on 280th Street. Blom is wanted on a Kandiyohi County warrant for first-degree burglary and also for questioning as part of an ongoing controlled substance investigation by the Litchfield Police Department.
Blom allegedly took off in his vehicle which resulted in a mile chase before officers were able to bring Blom’s vehicle to a stop using pursuit intervention tactics, causing the vehicle to enter a ditch, Fank said. Blom then abandoned his vehicle and fled into a nearby cornfield.
Officers set up a perimeter, and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted with a helicopter search of the field. The Meeker County Sheriff's Posse also searched the area, according to the Sheriff's report. After searching the area for several hours, the hunt was called off Tuesday evening.
Fank said Blom was not apprehended but is still believed to be in the area. As of Wednesday morning, Fank said the department had received a tip and were attempting to locate him.
Anyone with information about Blom is encourage to contact the Meeker County Sheriff's Office at 693-5400.
