The Meeker County Fair drew 9,478 in paid attendance this year. The fair’s busiest day was Friday with 3,270 admissions.

The numbers were down from 2007 when 10,643 gate admissions were recorded. Fair Board president Loree Schultz said new shows and events, such as the combine derby Friday evening, were well attended, however.

Grandstand attendance was 4,367 — up 731 from 2007.

“I thought the fair went extremely well,” Schultz said. “The weather was perfect.”
