A 9-year-old girl was injured when the four-wheeler she was riding on rolled over Sunday.

Ashton Cates was taken to Hutchinson Hospital for surgery on her right leg following a four-wheeler accident Sunday afternoon, according to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office.

Michael Dean Cates, of rural Dassel, was giving his 3-year-old grandson and his 9-year-old granddaughter a ride on his 1995 Polaris Sportsman 400 when the four-wheeler stopped on a hill and rolled over.

A family member transported the granddaughter, Ashton Cates, to Hutchinson Hospital, the Sheriff's Office reported.
