Save some money and the environment

Cenex Consumers Co-op  at 1025 E. Frontage Road in Litchfield will offer a deal that sounds almost too good to be true – cutting the cost of E85 fuel by 85 cents per gallon from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, July 10. The ethanol-based fuel is intended only for flex fuel vehicles (go www.CleanAirChoice.org [1] to see if your vehicle is a flex fuel vehicle). There is a 25 gallon limit per customer. Those who take advantage of the deal will not only save money, they are also helping to save the environment, according to event organizers.

“The American Lung Association of Minnesota supports E85 as a clean air choice many Minnesotans can make at the pump today” said Lisa Thurstin , manager for the American Lung Association of Minnesota Clean Fuel & Vehicle Technologies program. “E85 is cleaner-burning than gasoline, which results in less impact on the environment and on lung health.”

The event is sponsored by the Cenex Consumers Co-op, Meeker County Corn Growers, Minnesota Corn Growers Association, National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition, General Motors Corporation, US Department of Energy–Clean Cities, American Lung Association of Minnesota and the Minnesota Clean Air Choice Team.
