The Eden Valley-Watkins School Board appointed Julie Meyer to a vacant seat at its regular meeting Monday.

Meyer, who ran for School Board in November, will fill the position held by Dave Ruhland, who resigned from the board in April after purchasing a home in another school district, according to EV-W Superintendent Larry Peterson.

Meyer was the fifth highest vote getter in the November election, falling just short of Ruhland for the fourth open seat.

Peterson said Meyer will take over in June.
