The Eden Valley-Watkins School Board will be filling an open seat after board member Dave Ruhland handed in his letter of resignation.
EV-W Superintendent Larry Peterson said Ruhland's resignation came after he recently purchased a new house outside of the school district boundaries. Since he will no longer be living within the EV-W district, he resigned.
The board is expected to discuss the vacancy at Monday's meeting, Peterson said. Ruhland was elected to a four-year term in November 2007, so the board will appoint a new board member to fill the position until the November 2009 elections. Ruhland's last meeting will be May, Peterson said.
