Glen Menze of Starbuck, Minn., will challenge Democrat incumbent Collin Peterson for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives at the general election in November.

Menze received the endorsement of the Republican Party at its 7th Congressional District convention in Moorhead, Minn., Saturday. This is Menze’s second run for Congress. He lost to Peterson in 2000.

The convention attendees also selected delegates to the Republican National Convention in September. Erik Haapala of Dassel, current 7th district chairman; Nancy Haapoja of Redwood Falls; and Gus Booth of Warroad will represent the district at the national convention in St. Paul.
