A Litchfield teen was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center Thursday morning after a two-vehicle accident west of Kandiyohi.

Janeane M. Amos, 18, of Litchfield is reported to have non-life threatening injuries, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Amos was driving a 2002 Dodge Intrepid westbound on U.S. Highway 12, one mile west of Kandiyohi at 7:15 a.m. when she and an eastbound semi-truck, driven by James H. Murphy, 40, of Sioux Falls, S.D., collided head on. Murphy was taken to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar where he was treated and released.

Road conditions were not reported. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

U.S. Highway 12 was shut down for several hours between Willmar and Kandiyohi while the State Patrol investigated the accident.
