Spring your clocks ahead one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday for Daylight Saving Time. Clocks spring forward from 1:59 a.m. to 3 a.m.
Daylight Saving Time is intended to make the best use of daylight by moving an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening. Proponents say the plan saves energy during the summer by trimming use of lighting and small appliances, especially during the peak hours of late afternoon, early evening. Other studies have suggested it also helps cut down on motor vehicle accidents.
