Is the cold ever going to end?

Excuse me, Mother Nature, but I'm ready for spring. After a few years of relatively mild winters, this one seems to be stinging like a bee. It seems every time the weather appears to turn more mild - more average - another cold snap blows in from our neighbors to the north. While the lack of snow doesn't pain me - cleaning off my car isn't really how I like to spend my mornings - the bitter wind and cold is starting to get old. I know this is just a "regular" winter that was common for our grandparents and those who walked five miles in the snow, uphill both ways to school every day. But I'm ready for winter to be over and spring to dawn. We had one brief taste of it a few weeks ago when a 40 popped on the screen, but back to below zero temperatures. Hopefully tomorrow will be winter's last howl, though I won't bet on it with a whole month of winter left. So, I'll bundle up for another single-digit day with 30 below windchills, and think about warmer places: Bahamas 80°, Honolulu 76°, Sydney 73°, Capetown 77°, Ojmjakon, Russia -66°. Well, I suppose it can always be worse.
