Litchfield Police arrested a 36-year-old Litchfield man with domestic assault and fleeing a peace officer after a Friday morning incident.

Litchfield Police were called to a South Gorman Avenue residence at 5:45 a.m. for a possible domestic. Upon the officer’s arrival, the man came out of the residence and left the scene in a vehicle, Chief Patrick Fank said.

The man refused to stop but was eventually pulled over on Minnesota Highway 7 in McLeod County after Hutchinson police officers used stop sticks to flatten the vehicle’s tires, Fank said. The entire incident went about 15 miles, he said.

The Litchfield man is being held in Meeker County Jail awaiting formal charges. He was also booked for driving while intoxicated.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Department, McLeod County Sheriff’s Department and Hutchinson Police Department assisted.
