The Litchfield School Board approved district goals for the 2007-08 school year Monday.

Board members drafted the goals last month to address four areas: curriculum and instruction, community, fiscal and technology.

The goals are:
* Support strategies that enhance Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment II scores.
* Use Northwest Evaluation Association assessments to assist students’ success with development of skills and high stakes testing.
* Identify and share best practices in instructional differentiation.
* Monitor and support district and community chemical dependency programs that lead to high school graduation.
* Develop an understanding of the concept of all-day, every-day kindergarten and determine strategies for possible implementation.
* Provide opportunities for community members to view the completed Litchfield High School renovation project.
* Enhance the relationship with community stakeholders by sharing stories of student, school and district success.
* Monitor the work of the Legislature that would support the concept of equity for the various phases of district funding.
* Monitor the district’s general fund, communicate with community stakeholders and determine the need for a future operating levy increase.
* Support the second year of the district technology plan.
