The Litchfield gymnastics team finished sixth out of nine teams at Saturday's Section 6A meet at Melrose High School. Melrose captured the team title for the 21st time in 22 season, scoring 147.525 points. Alexandria (141.65), Willmar (140.525), Paynesville/Eden Valley-Watkins (127.4) and New London-Spicer (126.6) finished ahead of Litchfield, which totaled 125.325 points. Eden Valley-Watkins limited Holdingford to a season low for points, beating the Huskers 69-26 Tuesday at Holdingford High School. Fire destroys rural Darwin home
A fire early Sunday morning destroyed a rural Darwin home. Meeker County Sheriff's Office reported that it received a 911 call at 4:25 a.m. Sunday and dispatched fire departments from Dassel and Litchfield to 120 County State Aid Highway 24.
