After six years, five state tournaments and one Class A state championship, Tim Roberg has agreed to step down as Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City wrestling coach.
"I'm just stepping down from the head coaching position," Roberg said. "If it works for me to go in and help out, I'm looking forward to doing that. I can't see me walking away from wrestling completely, but my family and the time commitment was an issue with me."
The ACGC School Board accepted Roberg's during Monday's meeting in Grove City.
Roberg turned in his letter of resignation April 30.
"It's been about a year that I've been thinking about it. It hasn't been just a spur of the moment decision," Roberg said. "Me and Dan (Rouser) and Tony (Whitcomb) talked it over for a year now. I just felt like it was time for me to focus on my family a little more."
The school board has not named Roberg's successor.
