The remains of an unidentified person were found in the cab of a burning pick-up truck Sunday night in Ellsworth Township.
A passing motorist reported the vehicle fire at a rural residence south of Darwin around 10:12 p.m. Sunday.
According to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, the Dassel Fire Department extinguished the fire. Remains were found inside the cab.
The State Fire Marshal and Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating the incident.
The victim has not been identified, according to the Sheriff's Office. The cause of fire is under investigation.

Sheriff Mike Hirman said today officials are conducting DNA testing to produce a positive identification of the body. Until that testing is completed, Hirman said "with 100 percent certainty I can't say" who the victim is.
Hirman did say the pickup truck did not appear to be involved in any type of accident.
