A St. Cloud man who triggered a manhunt Tuesday evening in a cornfield north of Grove City was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon.
Devin Delbert Donald Blom, 21, formerly of Cosmos, was found at the 28131 CSAH 25, Grove City, residence, around 2 p.m. He is currently being held in the Meeker County Jail.
According to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, officers attempted to stop Blom Tuesday night during a traffic stop on 280th Street. He allegedly took off in his vehicle which resulted in a chase before officers performed a PIT maneuver, causing the vehicle to go into a ditch, whereupon Blom fled into a nearby cornfield.
Officers searched for Blom by helicopter and with the help of the Meeker County Sheriff's Posse for several hours before calling off the hunt Tuesday evening.
According to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, a nearby resident reported seeing a man matching Blom's description leaving the same cornfield around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning. Officers observed Blom before he disappeared into another cornfield, triggering another search, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Later in the afternoon, the suspect was again spotted walking south along CSAH 25. Officers observed Blom enter the 28131 CSAH 25 residence, the same residence officers executed a search warrant for Tuesday. After receiving permission from homeowner, the officers searched the grounds where they found Blom, according to a news release.
Blom is wanted on a Kandiyohi County warrant for first-degree burglary and also for as part of an ongoing controlled substance investigation by the Litchfield Police Department.
