Litchfield Planning Commission will consider a proposal Tuesday night to create a redevelopment project area as part of a financing package for upgrade of Bernie Aaker Auditorium.
The commission must approve the redevelopment project area in order for the city's participation in renovation of the auditorium to continue. The City Council already has offered its support for the $1.5 million renovation project, a cooperative venture between Meeker County, Litchfield School District and city.
Also on the agenda is a tax parcel split waiver for the Litchfield Opera House property. The City Council recently approved the sale of the Opera House to the nonprofit group, Great Litchfield Opera House Association, for $1. Property line and other issues must be resolved before the sale can be official, however.
The Planning Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. at Litchfield City Hall, 126 Marshall Ave. N. Meetings normally are Mondays, but due to the Columbus Day holiday, this month's meeting was set for Tuesday.
