Renville County teen receives probation after school threats incident
January 8, 2008 - 9:25am — Kristin Holtz
The Olivia teen charged with making threats against students at Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Junior-Senior High School was sentenced to six months of probation in Renville County Court Monday. Cozy Lynn Schick, 18, of Olivia, pled guilty to a gross misdemeanor charge of facilitating access to a computer security system in December after authorities traced online threats of violence at the school back to Schick. According to the complaint, Schick hacked into another teenager’s MySpace.com account and sent threatening messages to ACGC students and a teacher in October. A felony charge of making terroristic threats was dismissed last month. Schick, who was 17 at the time, was tried as a juvenile.
