Brides can shop more than 100 of gowns from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Dresses are available for $50 donations.

The money raised by the sale will be used to support the Meeker County Salvation Army.

Litchfield High School Class of 1978 will celebrate its 30-year reunion Sept. 13 at Bonfire Bar and Grill. Invitations have been sent. Class members are asked to RSVP.

Parents with infants, toddlers and preschoolers and their family members are invited to a Vehicle Fair from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Litchfield Civic Arena parking lot. Children will be able to take a close-up look at vehicles such as a fire truck, police car, a street sweeper, a garbage truck and many more. The event is free.

Pizza, beverages and dessert will be available to purchase on site. There will be drawings for door prizes.

In case of rain, the event will be postponed to Sept. 18.

Darwin Rod & Gun Club fun raiser, September 13, starts at 5:00 pm. Enjoy a grilled 1/2 burger, you put on the fixings. Also beans, chips, coffee and juice. Top the evening with games and a gun raffle at 9:00. Do not have to be present to win the gun raffle.

Meeker County residents looking to dispose of household paint, chemicals and flammables can do so Saturday at the Household Hazardous Waste Collection.

Accepted at the collection free of charge include home and garden pesticides, paint and wood preservatives, pool chemicals, cleaning agents, hobby supplies, thinners, solvents, flammables, acids and bases, and agriculture waste.

Not accepted are incandescent and fluorescent bulbs, compressed gas, explosives and radioactive materials, tires, oil and unidentified waste. Out-of-county and business waste is also not accepted.

During the past several months, Bernie Aaker Auditorium has been worked on and transformed into a performing arts center. It is now ready for use, and people are invited to come to the auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 20 to see the renovation that includes new seating and sound system, as well as a revised stage and orchestra pit.

Groups from Litchfield High School’s band and vocal departments, as well as actors from Litchfield Community Theatre and Litchfield Community Youth Theatre will perform a few short numbers.

The Meeker Count DFL will meet at its downtown office on North Sibley Avenue at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, to discuss items like the election, door knocking and sign pick-up.

Litchfield Public Schools and the School of St. Philip will have a two-hour late start Wednesday, Oct. 1, for teacher workshops. School will begin at 10 a.m.
