Crow River Women of the ELCA will meet at 8:30 a.m. April 26 at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Sarah’s Harmony from Glenwood area will entertain after the business meeting. A brunch will be served at 11 a.m. Cost is $6. In-kind offerings will be sewing fabric for Lutheran World Relief and the conference offering will be divided between Shelter House of Willmar and fabric shipping costs for Lutheran World Relief.

The Litchfield High School Prom will be held April 26. The “Night on the Red Carpet” will begin with Grand March at 4 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. The students will board buses for an evening at the Mall of America. The After Prom Party will be in the MOA Theme Park. Admission will be charged for the Grand March event.

Litchfield High School juniors and seniors will enjoy a “Night on the Red Carpet” April 26. This year’s prom will be in the Great Room at Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn.

The grand march will be at 4 p.m. in the Litchfield High School gymnasium. Doors open at 3 p.m. with a door charge of $2 adults and $1 students.

Following the grand march, students will board buses for Mall of America where they will have dinner and a dance. The after-prom party is also at the Mall of America in the Nickelodeon Universe amusement park.

Litchfield High School singers hope to perform to packed houses at the annual Litchfield LIVE concerts at 8 p.m. May 1 and 2 in the high school gymnasium.

The concert will feature more than a dozen solo and small ensembles each night, as well as performances by the Dragonaires, Freshmen Choir and joint Varsity and Chamber choirs.

Concert admission is $6 adults and $3 students.

The Litchfield Tobacco Free Youth Crew and middle school FCCLA members will take part in an Earth Day Community Clean Up from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. Anyone from the community interested in joining the clean-up is welcome. The event will start and end at the Litchfield Middle School.

The next Meeker County DFL meeting will be at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at the Larson home at 21950 CSAH 9, Dassel. Attendees are asked to bring a dish to pass for the breakfast potluck. The meeting will take place after eating breakfast. The group’s spring Highway 12 pick up is planned after the meeting. Call Pat at (320) 593-8971 for more information.

Students at Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City high School will celebrate prom May 3 at the Blackberry Ridge Golf Course in Sartell, Minn.

The “Las Vegas Night” begins with the grand march at 3 p.m. in the ACGC Junior-Senior High auditorium. Doors open at 2:15 p.m., and there will be a door charge.

Following the grand march, students will load buses at 4:15 p.m.
Dinner will be served at the golf course at 6 p.m. with a dance to follow until 11:15 p.m.

Commencement exercises for the Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City High School class of 2008 are set for 7 p.m. in the ACGC gymnasium in Grove City.

Sibley State Park will be host to a special Sesquicentennial Concert at 7 p.m. May 24. Charlie Maguire and special guest Ben Thoma will perform at Sibley State Park’s interpretive center.
Maguire, dubbed the state park Centennial Troubadour, will present the history of Minnesota through original songs and stories. Historian Thoma of Willmar will join Maguire on stage to share stories of Minnesota State Park history.
Admission to the concert is free. However, a state park vehicle permit is required to enter the park.
