Bonnie is an awesome person! She will make a great addition to the high school...and the kids will be in heaven with her wonderful food that she prepares! They are truely lucky at the high school! Her food is just as good as the food grandma used to make...you can tell she takes pride in and cares about what she puts out there for the students to eat! Oh yea...and the staff as well...we appreciate the food also! Thanks Bonnie!! We love you!

Scott what I amtrying to say

Scott what I amtrying to say is this, there are families who get homes thur hud who can not affrod an increase in their taxes. You are forcing these parents to ake a decision. pay the taxes or buy my child something he or she desperately needs?

Look at the farmers this year scott. The past three years have been very rough on them and now your asking them on top of this all to fork out more money on a levi where some may not even have a child in that district? and the businesses. Times are very rough. The economy once thriving is now trying to improve things. They have families to support and now your asking for them to pay more taxes???

I am very seriouse. what is wrong with the community coming together for this? why can't the towns that have their children attending their do bizarrs(sp?), bake sales, fundraisores? if this school needs this enough to ask tax payers to cough up money thru their taxes what is wrong with raining the money the old fashion way and not thru the tax payers. why do they have to pay the tab on everything? It is time the communities of this school which houses varying towns pull together and raise this money.

I agree Bill. My husband and I fully support the schools but with a high levi we just would say no. Not everyone has thousands perhaps hundres of thousands in a checking an savings account where ten dollars made no difference. some of us work our butts off and have to put our children before anything else.

The way to make this

The way to make this situation fair is to exempt taxpayers without kids. In Georgia where I live, none of our tax goes to support schools. Dropped my taxes from $1500 to $365. In that way, most extra curricular stuff is paid for by the families choosing to participate in those activities.

how many low income families

how many low income families do you know scott?? I know four and that ten is going to be hard for them to scrape. Maybe you dont have to worry about making those taxes but low incomes do and it is tiring to always hear the hoe owners and farmers can cough the money up along with the local businesses.

what is wrong with the kids and staff doing fundraisores to help cushion that money they need. I think if money is that incredibly tight for this school then they need to eliminate the non essentials. start cutting the programs that are too costly. there is nothing wrong with fundraising. Not a thing. we at my high school saved the tax payers thousands on taxes by doing the fnd raisores. when we needed a new football field and track we raised the money, when we needed some repairs and remodleing that had to be done, we raised the money. The city I lived in was population of 7,000. not less that litchfield. we sold candy, we sold popcorn, records the band made, bake sales, car washes and so forth. the school and commmunity got involved and when the levies came, it was considerably less and the tax payers voted on it. our school raised in the time I was there 4 yrs money for a new roof, track and field, football field, remodeling the hall ways and putting in new lockers and expanding things out and books and so forth. the levies my parents said were good on the pocket book of the tax payer who owned a home, farm and business. what is wrong with the community getting behind this school and doing that? where I come from that is how things are done, not sticking it to the home owners and farmers and businesses because scott we understood money was always tight. I my father was a bricklayer scott, winters were hard to come by. often more than not, we lived on welfare. care to know how many stews and soups I ate because that is what we could afford? and to say what is ten more dollars? well that ten could go to gas to go to work, pay part of an eletric bill or gas bill, food bill.... ten dollars may not be much for you, but sell that to some low income family where that ten dollars is everything between pay day and making it. even low income people have houses....if this school needs this levi then try fundraising, not that hard. even in these times.

I am going to come off

I am going to come off sounding very mean here. BUT....Every time a school wants money they want us tax payers to foot the bill. Property taxes are high enough as it is.

Allen I am glad you are proud to be a student at the school in question but ask your parents this. Do they want to pay higher taxes? Home owners, farmers and business pay enough. It seems like every time a school distric wants soemthing new the reply is raise property taxes. Like saying home owners will not mind. Well this home owner does mind it. Do the people who vote for this even understand there are single parents out there who own homes and have to bust butt to ensure they pay their taxes? what about those who are struggling?

The farmers have enough on their minds with how bad crops were this year without worry if their property tax is going up for a school district they may not even have children in.How much more do we home owners have to fork out? Why is it the answer always raise the property taxes??

How about raising money the old fashion way??? If you want something, go do a fundraisore for it. Look at the churches here, they raised their money for their new churhes. May of taken a few years but they still did it without I might add raising the property taxes thru some levy. when I was in high school and no I am not from here either, we had fundraisers. we raised money. we had bake sales, car washes and so forth. yes levies were asked for, but low dollar amounts. Nothing that would send a home owner groaning not again.

Stop asking the home owners to cough up the money. if you want to do a tax do it to EVERYONE. Not just a small group.

I think that all of us

I think that all of us should give into consideration that if ACGC levy doesn't pass and the referedum fails we as a ACGC district are saying we don't care about kids and education. Kids are the future of this nation and not having a proper education means not having kids ready for leading this country someday. I as a taxpayer sure don't want someone who is not properly educated running our schools, cities, states and country.
