There's no getting around it, the U.S. economy is in a tight spot. Over the last week, the financial news seems to get only worse as we hear about the delicate state of Wall Street.

But for most of us, the issues surrounding the failure of large investment banks are way over our heads, as we wonder what this constant barrage of economic news really means for us living on Main Street, USA.
