 <description>Yes, that really was a bear that some Forest City area residents thought they saw in recent days. It was verified late Wednesday afternoon by several people who visited an old farm site near the Forest City Stockade. What appeared to be an adult black bear had climbed a tree on the property and lay on a high branch as several carloads of onlookers visited to see the rarity for themselves. It was not immediately known where the bear came from or exactly how long it has been in the area.
