Citizen
Don't lump Republicans together. Don't lump Democrats either. Look at the candidate. As for local, I think both Steve Dille and Dean Urdahl are pretty square guys. I liked Pawlenty until the last couple years. Then I think he turned just plane mean. I was a strong Bush supporter but he turned out EVIL but that does not mean that all Republicans are a Bush. It is very hard to really know a candidate at higher levels because you can not get close. So what I do is look at their supporters. I will not support anyone again who has strong religious right support nor will I look at strong left. I want a middle of the road one.

when clinton was in office

when clinton was in office the wealthy hardly paid a dime and they made sure middle income people had to pay. I am not voting for someone like hillary. I am sorry but I just am not. Both her and her husband said one thing and did another. He could not care on bit about military after all he dodged the draft instead of doing what thousands of other drafted men did when called up. I have a huge problem with that and I have another problem with how a woman could condone what her husband did in the office with an intern. she cares more about appearences and her being a senator after the white house than than the fact her husband humiliated our country. Most women would not of handled it the way she did, most would of dumped him after the election was over. taxes have not been a severe was they are with the demos in office. the republicans have maintianed their promises... the democrats would be the first as they have already proven in congress and the senate on taxing the lower income people and psaring the wealthy. sorry but I like the fact my husband and I have some spare money to help us thru the inbetween pay periods, we never had that with an demo in office.

why does it matter if

why does it matter if hillary has "already run" the country for 8 years -- those 8 years were good years! I don't think she's "riding tails" either -- she's shown her self as worthy by her senate years. And the most important thing I think is getting reps out. Obama may not have "experience" in the sense you are all talking about, but I'm sick of the "good old boys" mentality, so that doesn't scare me at all. I'm ready for a new way of thinking and a new way of being in this world and actually, he's probably the best one to deliver that.

As far as taxes go -- dems don't raise middle class taxes for the most part so unless you're in the top 5% income of what this countries citizens make, I wouldn't worry about it. Plus as we've seen, you pay one way or another when reps are in office. Check history....and check your past 1040 tax scales.

I'll vote the dem no matter what -- better than any rep there is out there. But if I got to choose, I'd choose Richardson. Do not understand why he hasn't made more of an impact. in terms of qualifications, he's probably got the most experience.

No matter what, reps need to go.

I know I am not voting for

I know I am not voting for hillary. Not for one moment. If a woman is going to run for this important office then she ahs to orive herself and not by riding the tails. I do not like some fo the things she stands for. as for edwards, nope. wont vote him either. I just dont know yet. I guess I will make my mind up more once the bash commercials start up in january. Usually what ever the opposing side bashes is usually what their opponent(sp?) has strong issues on and a good grasp of it. I just wish for once they would not use abortion, religion, homesuxality to lure in the votes.

I want the honest answer about taxes, education, military budgets and health insurance. I want to be told the truth. I dotn want read my lips no more taxes.... or no tax increase yet the middle income get the high taxes while the wealthy live 4 yrs without any increases. I want to know how they are going to increase minimum wage so people can live comfortably and not day by day. I am tried of being lied too.

I generally vote republican

I generally vote republican and will if McCain gets the nomination. If he doesnt, I will cross party lines only of Edwards gets the nomination for the Dems. Otherwise I will vote for someone else, anyone else other than the other two. NO WAY will I vote for billary, she already ran the country for 8 yrs. Obama doesnt have the experience, plus I question his motivations.

Slikweasel, is local

Slikweasel, is local politics related to national politics?

I don't know, and I'll admit your imagery of a Dean Urdahl bowing to the golden idol of George W Bush is disturbing. What do the national issues of , "Gays, Guns and God", have to do with Dean Urdahl though? I can see criticism of Mr. Urdahl for his stances on state health care, taxes, and his being an unrelenting pawn of Tim Pawlenty.

As for the gist of the conversation I do agree with you that Edwards is the man. The national press is bound and determined to have either a an African American or a woman as the nominee. They are leaving Edwards out in the cold by highlighting the politically correct candidates.

When it comes to issues Edwards wins hands down. He has feasible plans for all the issues we face now. All we can hope for is an Obama and Clinton war which leaves Edwards as the clear choice.

Who could beat Edwards? Not Giuliani the thrice divorced mayor who rode 9/11 for personal gain. Not Romney the neocon turning his back on his own religion to worship the gods of big money. Too bad for Mccain he is too honest and honorable to win the nomination this year...

First off we need a

First off we need a Democrat. George Bush and his Republican Horde has brought this nation to the verge of economic collapse. All Republicans have campaigned on is "Guns, Gays, and God", all this while tearing the pocketbook out of middle class America.

You cannot vote for a Republican and not be a class traitor and a hypocrite. That being said, my favorite is John Edwards. If he does not win the nomination I will be firmly in the corner of whoever the Democratic nominee is.

I am an Independent, and I see no other direction. Republicans are concerned with one thing, the well being of their elite overlords. Locally look at pictures of our representative Dean Urdahl and family wearing proudly his "W' campaign buttons. Wake up Litchfield! We are being sold like cattle!
