Sheriff Arrested??

My mother in law told me a few minutes ago that her moms neighbor heard that Sheriff Mike Hirman was arrested yesterday for some kind of drug thing!!!!!! Is there any truth to this is?? Maybe this is what the feds were doing here to invesigate mike hirman or somthing??

LitchRes is correct. If something like that had happened, the Independent Review would have covered it, just as we did the original story regarding the FBI being in town.
I think it's time for all conspiracy theorists to take a deep breath and wait for the truth to come out. I understand it may be frustrating to not hear anything on this story. But it's ridiculous to continue to spread rumors. Many of the posters on this site say they want the truth to come out, yet they do nothing but spread rumors, make up stories and complain about perceived wrongs.
I thank LitchRes and JimDandy for trying to introduce at least a modicum of reason into these comment strings. I hope others will think before they post and forget trying to spread rumor and innuendo simply to make other people's lives miserable.
Responsible comments are appreciated. Outlandish lies are not. I encourage everyone to read the user agreement again.

You as a journalist should "investigate" our claims first before you make such broadsweeping statements. I myself am not claiming any "perceived" wrongs but have truley been victomized. I think that the disgrunteled posters have a right to state what agenda the county has forced them into with out those others who do not know the facts before they proclaim them to be liars.Those posters have already tolorated enough from the county why would they risk thier reputation or worthyness for the the grand jury?The paper is doing a miss service to its community members by not allowing them to put thier truths out there. Thank you for the service you do provide the readers. You have allowed us to put forth our opinion. Civil Servant, if you have followed the postings you know that: the Sheriff has been arrested, untrue, Deputies have been led away in handcuffs, untrue, A local drug task force agent was arrested, untrue, a former drug task force agent got off free and it was never in the paper, untrue. To say these people were telling lies, OK I wont do that but they sure did not have very good information. As I have said in previous posts, concider your source. I do feel people are posting he have a vested interest, maybe I am one of those, others sure do seem to have it out for the social service dept, how about the drug task force. We all have a story to tell and would like our side to be the only one.
To the people who have been wronged, the phone book is full of Attys who will help you. I am not being a smart a$$, that is the way it is. Many people have taken action against local Govt. and done quite well.
One sure truth is, we should learn something sooner or later.
This past week, I was verbally attacked by a person who was upset about my position on this invstigation. I noticed on this weeks I.R. page 4A the printing of the first amendment.
Brent has removed postings, people have crossed the line with the words they used, sorry that is just the way it is.

I dont believe for one nano second that they would . That would sink the investigation.If any one leaked the info. and it had a trickle down effect the intire investigation would be ruined. I dont beleive that they would risk this after being here for 2 yrs. or for any reason for that matter. It is very apparent that they wouldnt trust anyone of those employee's in the courthouse. Thats the whole reason they are investigating.Untrustworthy county employee's.Common sense tell's me some would like to have you believe it. If thier info was still there I wouldnt of ask so many questions or thought that the other "overley informed" posters have a agenda for the county. When statements have been removed it gives one the appearance of being one sided. Back to page topNo where was an assumption made that specific poster's stories are false or are a lie. A comment was made about posting lies. Common sense tells me that it should serve as a warning to those that "are" posting lies. If you are not, then the statement doesn't pertain to you nor would it warrant anyone to have to justify their story or lash out with unnecessary commentary of frustration. If you aren't guilty of something then why do you have do defend yourself?
What I find fascinating is that people are jumping all over the one person that has the ability to "silence" your story and your posting alltogether on this site.
No one said anyone specific was lying or not telling the truth....It is like being in elementary school and the teacher asking the class who broke the toy....and one child speaks up and says "I didn't break the train" and the teacher never specified which toy she was talking about.
Calm down, take a breath....good things do come to those who wait.
This whole thing is frustrating, you are entitled to your pain but don't take it out on those that are underserving.

Back to page topAgreed. There was commentary that was totally off topic, completely inappropriate, extremely judgemental, and unnecessary. Some posts were out of hand. It is unfortunate that so many relevant comments had to be removed because the rules for using this site could not be followed. It isn't about being silenced, though based on the commentary here, it seems that is how some feel, I am sure it is because their comments are the ones that ultimately shut the thread down.
It is about being respectful, not only to eachother, but to ones self. Attack me again if you will, that seems to be the going rate. However, I have choosen to find more useful means of expressing and dealing with this issue and it will only further prove my point. Unless there is relevant information to the story I will no longer be posting to this thread.

On numerous occasions individual posters and anyone who used this Web site were reminded of this user agreement but some continued to make comments that were inappopriate. It is unfortunate that I had to take this action. I didn't make the decision lightly, because I agree that some of the posts were valid. However, because none of the cautions about inappropriate or irresponsible posts were heeded, I decided at this point to take down the entire string. We appreciate those who attempted to make postings that were informative and hope they will continue to read and participate in this site. Back to page topJim Dandy, many people are very upset that so much information and truth was removed from this site and refuse to even come here anymore. Some have had a real hard time trusting people becuase of the things they have experienced in this county and then the removal of their posts made them feel that it was just proving to them that they couldn't even trust the local paper.
One of the 'regulars' is in the process of getting a site up and running so that the discussions can take place there. You can bet that the website will be well advertized and people will get the address to it.
And yeah, you aren't kidding when you say this isn't over yet! I cannot wait until this all wraps up. I just have to pray that our county commissioenrs are smart enough to go outside the department to fill the position of SHERIFF!

Back to page topMost people, including myself, are not fearful of making posts and lack of trust for the I.R. isnt the issue either, at least for me, I wont speak on someone elses behalf. ALthough I wish the IR wouldnt have removed ALL of the posts, I can also understand why they made that decision. Posting about FBI probes where the sun doesnt shine isnt appropriate for a public newspaper. It also violates the papers users agreement. Read it ! That is just one example. Funny...yes, appropriate for this site...no. Maybe you missed those posts, I dont know, they were not on the website very long. If you didnt see them, then I can understand why you are frustrated. A lot of people probably didnt see them and dont understand fully what happened and why the IR removed everything. It is unfortuante that a lot of valid information also got removed with them, but such is life.
And just like ziggypop stated, before you go bashing me about being a good 'ole boy , I too contributed time, money and effort into another candidate at election time.

I remember a storie of a child recieving a broken bone while held in fostercare. That's completly unexceptable!
I remember that most of the posters (reg. joe's) along with a store owner and former county employee's have all stated some kind of grievence.

Back to page topIt seems that most comments made were by people that had a resentment against law enforcement. I agree with Brent removing the comments. I have only posted once, asking someone who reportedly lost a million dollars to validate their post with the name of who took their home, they refused. Other questions were asked by other posters without answers. Someone commented that the county is 'run' by the Eagles....I want to know which one, the Eagles board of directors,the members,the patrons, people driving by the club, or the rock group Eagles??? Some posts were very good, people with insight and information. There were many other posts that were rants and raves. Perhaps this post also could be included in that group. It is hard for someone like me,someone without resentment for law enforcement,to believe a poster who will not validate an accusation, or give themselves some credibility. Mike Hirman has been elected/re-elected how many times...at least 4 terms, and as someone posted he is innocent until PROVEN guilty. He has not been arrested and if he is arrested there will still be a trial. Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Before anyone accuses me of being a'good old boy' I have on more than one election donated money to and displayed political signs for his opponent.

Back to page topI just wanted to comment that I have the utmost respect for law enforcement. Law enforcement officials who have honesty and integrity in their positions. I myself have a BA in Criminal Justice and work in the field of security. I love my job and enjoy going to work every day and I do my job with integrity and honesty. It really bothers me that someone who should hold a positon of integrity has none. I know what's going on, I have known for nearly 2 years. I cannot wait until the citizens of this county, especially those who made the mistake of electing Hirman, find out the truth. The truth should have came out a very long time ago but didn't. The truth was buried so long because people didn't care about anyone other than themselves or felt too threatened to speak up. I have also been threatened but I do not take threats lightly and won't let that stop me from speaking up. Now, I will sit back and wait until the axe falls. I know it will and I cannot wait until it happens!!
