Will the economy be your biggest concern at the polls?
February 27, 2008 - 12:42pm — Kristin Holtz
Sometimes it seems the only news is bad news. Oil prices finished over $100 a barrel yesterday signaling the possibility of $4 a gallon this spring. New home sales continue to drop as foreclosures rise. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke has suggested another interest rate cut, causing the dollar sink to a new low against the Euro. And closer to home, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported today the state could face a $1 billion deficit when the state economic forecast is released Thursday. All this in a Presidential year. The economy will definitely be on the minds of voters come November, but I'm wondering if it will be the most important. While the election is still nine months away and many things can change until then, what's the most important issue you will be contemplating when you head to the polls? What's important to you?
