New approach to farmers market

Past difficulty with administration of the farmers market in Central Park persuaded the City Council to vote for a new strategy in 2008.

In the past, the city issued one seasonal sale on public property permit to an independent organizer of the market, but “problems have been ongoing with this arrangement,” City Administrator Bruce Miller wrote in a memo to the Council March 3.


Draft zoning ordinance on Planning Commission agenda

Litchfield Planning Commission will review the city's draft zoning ordinance during its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 10, at City Hall.

The Planning Commission has been reviewing the zoning ordinance for several months as part of the preparation of the city's Comprehensive Plan. City Council members are expected to attend Monday's meeting to review the work that's been done and offer suggestions to the commission.


State will use public’s input in transportation study

Congested intersections, hard-to-see turns and bike trails were just a few transportation issues community members identified for city, county and state officials at an open house last week.

Planning Commission recommends approval of hospital project

Litchfield Planning Commission voted 5-0 Monday to recommend approval of variance and special-use permit requests from Meeker County Memorial Hospital.
